LEVELS OF CARE AT RESURGENCE
We offer Detox, Inpatient, Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient levels of care
Detox level of care
As every person is different, every detox process is also different. But, in many cases, quitting “cold turkey” can lead to substantial withdrawal symptoms. In fact, if done without appropriate medical supervision, the detox process can be hazardous. Improperly managed, it can even be life threatening. Our staff at Resurgence Recover Center takes the detox process very seriously.
The process of detox allows your body and mind to shed harmful toxins. Gradually decreasing the amount of the drug in question leads to a more comfortable, gradual detox experience.
In a controlled, supervised environment such as ours at Resurgence, this builds the foundation for a lifetime of recovery.
Here are some frequently asked questions about our Detox Level of Care:
Why shouldn’t the detox process be performed at home?
Some clients will be tempted to avoid the detox process and do it alone at home. Professionals discourage this, however, as it can be very unsafe. People who attempt in-home detox have a higher risk for dangerous health consequences and relapse.
In order to manage your withdrawal symptoms and mitigate discomfort, it’s necessary to have the appropriate clinical supervision. Furthermore, there is no reason why you should go through the uncomfortable, often painful process alone.
How is the Detox Process Managed at Resurgence?
Through the clinically supervised process, you’ll have 24-hour medical care. To ensure that you receive the detox plan that’s right for you, an addiction recovery specialist will conduct a careful evaluation of you. The goal is to begin the detox process, physically stabilize you and help you rid your body and mind of alcohol and drugs. When this process is complete, your treatment can begin.
How is our Detox Program Kept Safe and Effective?
We believe that you are going to be more successful as you detox if you have a strong support structure around you. Resurgence offers a compassionate, nurturing environment— an excellent reason to seek treatment with us rather than attempting to do it alone, at home. Resurgence Detox Staff encourage you and provide you with that crucial support you need to be successful. Ultimately, this reduces the likelihood of relapse. It also allows our staff to manage your withdrawal symptoms and keep them under control.
Withdrawal symptoms are managed and controlled through the use of non-habit forming medications. Once the withdrawal symptoms subside, these medications are gradually tapered off. This approach allows the detox process to be as safe and comfortable as possible.
Should I stay in your residential program while I detox?
We’ll encourage you to consider staying in our residential program while you detox. Our independent addiction medicine physicians can make the detox process as comfortable as possible. Starting the recovery process with our understanding support and care will give you the foundation you need for a drug-free life. Many clients decide to stay past their detox period, in order to build the skills and support system they need.
